Today had some "epic win."

After the concert, I had the "honor" of waking up at around 4 AM to leave at around 5:10 to pick up Ate Tess (an aunt, or more specifically the mom of someone who's practically an adopted sister/cousin to my siblings and I) from the airport by virtue of my fucked-up body clock, which tends to wake up early despite alcohol, papers and gaming. Reunions with relatives home from abroad're always fun, but the epic win on the ride home was Ate Tess' tale of Andrew E. being on the same plane as her. XD

Thesis and "Third World" Lit were free cuts today, though we were required to show up at the classroom for "attendance" (meaning, paying for our readings); which I managed to not do, thanks to me taking a "quick" nap after getting back from the airport. Fortunately, I managed to run into our beadles on the way to the Faura smocket.

Smocket "class" was hilarious as usual. Today was slightly trippier, since we had enough people in it for our class to virtually take up the entire Faura smocket (okay, if you wanna be technical it was more like two simultaneous "classes" but still).

Theo was interesting, as it has consistently been. Today was actually just a "normal" lecture...and I found myself actually listening and taking notes on the Ten Mega-Trends Moving the Church. If that last sentence doesn't speak volumes of Ma'am Clamor's ability as a prof (go over that sentence again, and remember that this is me in Theo class), I don't know what will.

Dr. Soleda Reyes' talk on Amorsolo was just...epic. Not only did I manage to get pwnd in public, I also got an answer that basically pwnd all of that theory/ideology elitism we all see floating around (admittedly an answer that I quite admire, in contrast to the usual standard dissing of Romanticism or the popular neutral response). As an added bonus, [info]staykool and I agree that her answer also indirectly gave us advice that may very well save our block's theses. @_@

And so I shall be off to my Lit 138 readings (which I'm quite enjoying) and those for PH 104 (which I need to read for a quiz).

Or sleep could come first, and readings tomorrow morning. Strangely, just that one incident of waking up early to head to the airport had me feeling a bit woozy the whole day.

On a completely random note, I really do wonder what Silk Cuts taste like. I mean, they've gotta have some merit if John Constantine chain-smokes nothing but those, ne? ._.

Dragonforce lied.

"Through the fire and the flames we carry on" my ass. More like "Through the flood and mud we splash."

Roight. So the day started out somewhat bad. I woke up with a cold, and dragged myself to school thinking, "bugger, I've got a Theo quiz and I gotta cram for it feeling like shit like this." The morning started out with my typical pre-Thesis-class sentry duty at the book sale, albeit with markedly less LitSoc folk manning (read as: no other LitSoc folk behind the table other than me); a sure sign that something strange was afoot.

I went to the lib to get some stuff photocopied, and received one of the biggest scares in my life when my brother texted me asking if the Faura smocket was gone. Naturally, I rushed all the way from the third floor of the Rizal Library down to Faura just to make sure that the venue for M-W-F 1:30-2:30 INTACT 2 (Intro to Assholery and Crack Time) was still...well, intact. Fortunately, the smocket was still there -- though part of the walkway in front of it was under a puddle, which would come to haunt me later. I went back to the book sale.

People started showing up later than usual thanks to the rain. Egad, the rain. That horrendous rain. That rain through which [info]izkariote and I bravely carried on for the sake of a smoke. It wasn't so bad on the way there, and in fact for awhile [info]izkariote and I agreed that such weather's actually pretty cool for smoking. Unfortunately, shortly after we started actually enjoying the smokes in the nice breeze, the rain started picking up. It ended with us crossing through mudwater deep enough to completely submerge shoes. We both arrived back at Dela Costa throughly tripped out, and with our shoes quite...squishy.

Thus ends the tale of two epic villains storytellers and their nicotine-charged journey through high water. X_x

The rest of the day was spend with [info]ryvaeus, [info]batongbituin and [info]ultra_arvin. Trippy as always, but I don't think anything else today can compare to THE EPIC FAURA SMOCKET FLOOD.

As for the cold, it stayed with me 'til now. -_-
