Titans, GO!

When [info]brat_pwinces and I first heard of the Book Blockade, her immediate impulse was to try and gather as many people as we could to go on strike and all that jazz. My immediate response was to say that most of the book lovers 'round these parts would rather do their own individual guerrilla tactics and snipe the thing from their own blogs; I commended her passion and all, but I figured that the time wasn't right for people to band together and mobilize against this.

And thus, I stand corrected.

Of course, credit where it's due; t'was [info]the_bumper_car who informed me of this. Kudos to the HGC for their efforts.

I was supposed to type up some rousing words at the end of this post, but sleep would have me do otherwise. Instead, I'll say: CHEERS.

P.S. LitSoc folk, please do check the Book Blockade note I've left on our e-group from last year.

Hell, if you dun' wanna wait for LitSoc's official response you can go invade the UPHGC's forums ahead o' them. They're quite open to folk from other schools posting at their boards thanks to me invading it last year and trying to get some LitSoc/HGC tie-ins done. 8D

Thanks for reposting, Brian. The letter-sending that other nerds did to UNESCO worked - UNESCO already put out a statement criticizing the blockade.
